Villa Bakung is a 350 m², four-bedroom beach house at Siri Mendira, a private estate of three villas on Mendira Beach in East Bali, set on more than 700 m² of landscaped garden facing the ocean. All four air-conditioned bedrooms — two on each floor — have ocean views, a super-king bed (200 × 200 cm) with a mosquito net, generous wardrobe space, an in-room safe and an en-suite bathroom with both shower and bathtub. The living room, under a traditional vaulted Balinese timber ceiling, looks over the 17-metre infinity pool to the sea and is furnished with classic pieces and Balinese antiques, with a 42-inch TV (cable and DVD), a music dock and wifi. The single-slab wooden dining table seats ten beside a fully equipped kitchen, and meals are best taken in the bale, the open-sided pavilion facing the pool and the ocean. In front of the villa is the estate's 1,200 m² white-sand beach. The estate is fully staffed — 18 people across its three villas, including an in-house manager, butlers, cooks, housekeeping, gardeners and 24-hour security — and the kitchen team will prepare local or western meals to order.
