About 3 BR Japandi Sauna Villa Japan
This three-bedroom villa is one of two private houses on a forested hillside in Hakone, ninety minutes from Tokyo. It sleeps up to eight, with two bathrooms, across roughly 350 m² of indoor and outdoor living.
The main living room is upstairs, under a vaulted timber roof, and opens onto a wide deck. A corner sofa faces a wood-burning stove, there is a Japanese lacquered bar counter, and music plays through a tube amplifier and classic speakers. Beside the room is a private hinoki bath, filled with free-flowing, milky-white hot spring water from Owakudani. Of the two houses, only this one has its own sauna, with a cold plunge outdoors.
Downstairs, an open kitchen and an eight-seat oak table are where the group gathers for meals. The three bedrooms are an extra-wide super-king suite, a twin room and a Japanese tatami room laid with futons.
A butler, a visiting chef, spa treatments in the villa and private transfers from Tokyo can all be arranged. For larger parties, the second villa stands six metres away.
